Hi, I’m Dr Mxolisi Brendon Shongwe, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. I hold a Bachelor of Science Honours (awarded Best Final Year Student), a Master’s degree, and a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering—all from the University of the Witwatersrand. In addition, I have an Advanced Diploma in Vocational Teacher Education from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland, where I am currently also completing a Master’s in Education Management.
